The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum is seeking a dedicated, detail oriented individual(s) to help staff and Research Library volunteers analyze historic McHenry County newspapers for a major digitization project.
The individual(s) would be expected to compare two different sets (Star and Sun) of city newspapers to see if there are any duplicate, matching, or similar pages and marking said pages. Any individual(s) who are interested in this position should be willing and able to dedicate at least one day a week until the project is completed, be comfortable working in a stationary position for extended periods of time, and be very detail oriented.

Established in 1963, our members, staff, and volunteers have a 60-year-plus record rich in preservation, education, and entertainment contributions to McHenry County.
We create learning experiences and events. We focus on local culture, organization, and family history. We collect and care for notable artifacts. We participate in the activities of like-minded organizations throughout McHenry County.
Besides operating the museum, the Society plaques historic sites and structures, holds adult programs and arranges various school and adult group tours.
