ORGANIZATION: The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art

  • Transport visitors safely and efficiently using both standard and ADA vehicles.
  • Assist visitors and respond to questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Impart general information and guide visitors to approved resources for additional information.
  • Ensure that passengers comply with safety protocols.
  • Communicate with the appropriate staff via radio regarding visitor concerns and vehicle operation issues.
  • Wipe down and clean carts after each shift.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Provide proof of a valid drivers’ license. Licenses will be subject to an annual validity screening. Those with out of state licenses may incur responsibilities and costs associated with verifying validity.
  • Must be able to comfortably operate all features and controls of vehicles.
  • Must be able to comfortably disembark vehicles at each stop to ensure safe unloading and loading of passengers.
  • Should not have night vision challenges if driving during twilight/evening hours.
  • Possess an outgoing, friendly disposition; display flexibility, collegiality, and a willingness to support staff and volunteer colleagues in their respective roles.
  • Be comfortable volunteering in all weather conditions.
  • Volunteers are required to wear the provided polo-style shirt and pants or shorts (no denim). Those who wish to wear a hat may only wear a Ringling-issued ballcap. Open-toed shoes are not permitted. Other weather-appropriate attire may be worn if the items are in solid colors and do not have any logos, text, or advertising with branding that doesn’t positively support The Ringling and Florida State University.

Description

The Ringling is the State Art Museum of Florida and is administered by Florida State University. It features an historic mansion, art museum, circus museum, historic theater and reference library, situated on sixty-six acres of bayfront property in Sarasota.
