Committee Members for Fun New Fundraising Event in Vancouver, WA

Volunteer Connections, a program of the Human Services Council in Vancouver, WA is searching for committee members to help us launch our new signature event designed to increase awareness of volunteerism and community engagement, and raise money to support our programs. The event is planned for September 22, 2018. The event centerpiece is a scavenger hunt and huge volunteer recruitment fair. We need committee members who are committed to volunteerism and community engagement and believe the best way to encourage people to volunteer is to show them how much fun it can be! The scavenger hunt will showcase a number of nonprofits and what volunteers do to support their missions, the volunteer recruitment fair includes nonprofit booths recruiting volunteers, local vendors promoting their products and services, and activities and entertainment. If you have experience helping to produce a fun run, walk, or race, or better yet a scavenger hunt please consider joining in! We expect to meet for two hours the next few months coordinating the project, then meet more frequently as needs dictate. If you have been wanting to learn more about event management, fundraising, or volunteer coordination this is a great opportunity to be involved and to help develop a new signature event. In the past, Volunteer Connections produced the highly successful Senior Expo a lifestyle event for those 50 and over. This new event has a wider focus with the mission to support awareness of volunteerism in SW Washington.
