Purpose: The East Bay SPCA Marketing Department develops and implements marketing and communications initiatives to support the East Bay SPCA's vision, mission, donation and revenue objectives. We are seeking a volunteer interested in assisting with Video tasks to help brand engagement and attendance on social media channels and website.

Position Duties:

• Creates 30-60 second bios on adoptable dogs to be featured on a national subscription cable show
• Creates sizzle reels for events by shooting video onsite at major East Bay SPCA events and edits to create memorable event recaps no more than 3 minutes long
• Conducts on-camera interviews with staff as needed
• Shoots video content for staff to use on social media, including footage of animals inside the shelter
• Comfortable collaborating with East Bay SPCA Marketing Department on edits and final cuts

Skills:

• Natural storyteller
• Solid experience and portfolio in videography and video editing at events including graphics and post-production
• Good communicator who is comfortable asking questions during video interviews
• Experience in animal welfare storytelling a plus
• Ability to follow brand style guides for graphics and creative treatment

Training and Shifts:

• Must attend the East Bay SPCA’s Volunteer Orientation.
• Schedule program/skill specific training shift with the Marketing department.

Requirements

• Commit to assisting the Marketing department onsite at events, especially summer events including: Adopt-a-thon (Saturday, July 21) and Clear the Shelters (Saturday, August 18).
• Lives locally in the East Bay with reliable access to transportation.
• Has own video production camera and equipment along with video editing software.
• Complete feline and canine companionship and enrichment behavior trainings before handling animals.
