Potomac Conservancy and Latino Outdoors are joining forces to cleanup one of our favorite spots along the river - Dyke Marsh!
Join us on April 21st from 9 AM to 12 PM to get out and enjoy some spring sunshine! You won't just be helping the wildlife at Dyke Marsh. Preventing litter from entering the Potomac River has an impact on public health, too, because the river is our primary source of drinking water in the DC Metro region.

What you need:
- Close-toed shoes
- A smile!
What we provide:
Everything else!
All tools, drinking water from fountains, and supplies will be provided by Potomac Conservancy and Latino Outdoors. And just because you took a stand for clean water, stick around for a special treat afterwards!
How to get there:
By Car:
Travel south from Old Town, Alexandria on the George Washington Memorial Parkway towards Mt. Vernon. After crossing the stone bridge at Hunting Creek (unmarked), take your next left at "Belle Haven Park & Marina/Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve."
By Metro:
If you're up for a morning stroll before the event, the Huntington Metro Station, located on the Yellow Line, is a 3 mile walk from Dyke Marsh.
By Bus:
Dyke Marsh is also a short, ten minute bus ride away from Huntington Metro Station.
Take the Fairfax Connector bus 101, 151 or 152. Go to the Fairfax Connector website for the schedule.
Get off the bus at Belle View Boulevard and Wakefield Drive across from the Belle View Shopping Center. Walk east on Belle View Boulevard about three blocks to the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Cross the parkway and walk north about 1/3 of a mile to the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve sign and turn right or east on the entrance road. The pedestrian entrance to the wetland is a dirt road called Haul Road on the right at the sign marked Dyke Marsh Wildlife Habitat.
