At PelotonU, we serve working adults who are returning to college to earn their degree. Before every student starts in college, they go through a period we call "Academic Onboarding" to get them ready. During Academic Onboarding, students are working on refresher courses to hone their math and writing skills before they enroll in college.
For many of our students, it's been years since they've done academic writing, simplified a fraction, or been in a classroom setting - it can be a pretty overwhelming two months! One way we like to make the experience better for them is by providing tutors.
That's where we're hoping you can be helpful. Would you be willing to tutor some PelotonU students in basic math (arithmetic to algebra 1), writing, computer skills and/or professional development?
You can come once or every week - any and all tutoring commitments are valuable to our students’ success. We need tutors at both our central location (500 E St Johns Ave) and our south location (2901 Montopolis) for 1-2 hour time slots on weekdays and flexible time slots on Saturdays.
If you've completed a bachelor's degree or higher, enjoy working with students, and care about higher education, we’d love your time and talent. You can sign up for one session and see how you like it - or you can commit to coming in more frequently from now until the end of the year. If you have more questions, please let us know!
