Plant native trees and remove invasive vegetation at this historic restoration site along Haynie Creek across from Dakota Creek Golf & Country. From Bellingham, head north on I-5 and take Exit 270 (Lynden/Birch Bay). Turn right onto Birch Bay Lynden Rd., left onto Valley View Rd., and right onto Haynie Rd. Look for our signs and the blue NSEA tent.
We’ll bring the tools and gloves - all you have to do is wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Snacks courtesy of The Bagelry, Starbucks Coffee, and the Community Food Co-Op. Coffee provided thanks to NSEA’s official coffee sponsor, Tony’s Coffee. Bring your friends, family, and enthusiasm and we’ll see you at the creek! All ages are welcome. Any volunteers under 18 years old must bring a completed Liability Release Form (www.n-sea.org/work-parties).

Mission Statement
NSEA educates, inspires, and engages the community to take action to keep wild salmon here for future generations.
Description
NSEA works with Whatcom County landowners to improve habitat for salmon, steelhead, cutthroat trout, and native char that has been degraded by past land use practices. NSEA implements 30 new stream restoration projects throughout Whatcom County every year, and also maintains and monitors previously planted restoration sites. NSEA projects provide excellent opportunties for community outreach and public education through direct participation of landowners in salmon habitat restoration. NSEA's school and community education programs provide opportunities for community members to move from awareness to knowledge to action in their own watersheds as neighbors learn the basics of salmon and stream ecology, and environmental stewardship.
