During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Pony Power Therapies is a non-profit organization giving special needs and at-risk children and adults a unique opportunity to ride, care for and interact with horses. Our riding and non-riding activities enhance individuals’ physical, social and emotional well-being in a safe, nurturing farm environment.
Pony Power is expanding its programs and looking for Farm Crew/Garden Volunteers. We need both individuals and groups to help with some projects. Below is a listing of various opportunities.
Garden Volunteers** - We are building an interactive garden for our participants to learn of farming, composting, and harvesting. The goal is to have a fully functioning garden for farm to table education.
Fence Painters* - We have newly constructed paddock fencing that needs to be stained.
Trail Keepers - We are constructing a sensory trail and volunteers are needed for basic clean-up and maintenance of the trail.
Paddock Cleaners -Volunteers are needed for basic clean-up of horse turn out paddocks.
Tack Cleaners - Volunteers are needed for deep cleaning and conditioning of horse tack.
Red Barn Cleaners - Volunteers are needed for cleaning/maintenance of Pony Power’s Red Barn. Currently, two horses reside in our red barn and it is used for our non-riding programs.
Recycling Volunteers - Volunteers are needed for organizing Pony Power’s recyclable waste.
Construction/Interior Finishing Volunteers* - The classroom in the Pony Power Red Barn needs to have final construction/interior decorating completed.
** Establishment of garden can be a 1-day long project completed by a group and then individual volunteers will be needed for maintenance.
* One day project ideal for a group.
Volunteers will work under the direct supervision of our Facilities Manager and an orientation/training is required. All shifts and projects will be scheduled through the Facilities Manager - typically between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
