Whiterock Conservancy, a nonprofit land trust in west-central Iowa near Coon Rapids, Iowa, is looking for campground host(s) to administer the Oakridge Campground. The host(s) is responsible for helping to register guests and maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant campground for the public to enjoy. Oakridge Campground is an equestrian and RV campground that combines overnight camping and day-use parking for all recreational trail user groups (equestrian, hiker, and mountain bikers). Enjoy beautiful evening views in one of the darkest places in Iowa overlooking the Des Moines Lobe.
- Assist Whiterock Conservancy staff in administering overnight and day use activities, including: checking in guests, assisting with light maintenance, performing campground patrol, and assisting with stocking and cleaning showers/restrooms.
- Weekdays require occasional campground activities and preparation for weekend activities. Campground may require grooming or fire-pit cleaning.
- Hours and duties can be adjusted to suit changes in schedules or peak campground use throughout the summer.
- The host(s) must be able to get along well with visitors, organize work, receive and forward feedback to improve campground and trails, and possess basic computer skills.
The host(s) will receive site 14 with full service for 1-7 months. The position will start at earliest April 15, 2018 and last until October 15, 2018.
