Parker School from Hawaii Island is seeking volunteer judges in Honolulu for the Hawaii Speech League’s (HSL) debate and speech tournament in April. As one of the only neighbor-island participating schools, Parker is always in need of judges for the tournaments held in Honolulu. No experience needed.
The Hawaii Speech League website has a wealth of information at: www.hawaiispeechleague.org. The HSL is made up of participating Hawaii high schools both public and private. Volunteering as a judge supports participants from all schools.
Light refreshments and a small meal is provided to all judges in the judges’ lounge on all tournament dates.
Date: April 12-13, 2018
Day of Week: Thursday & Friday
Host Campus: Kamehameha
# of HNL Judges Needed: (8)
Volunteers: please feel free to bring a book or iPad to keep busy while on a bye round, a jacket or sweater, and a notepad/pen/pencil to take notes to complete ballots. All schools have been asked to inform judges to limit the length of written comments on each ballot so as not to hold up the start of the following rounds. Judges are asked to stay present for the entire tournament and are welcome to leave after the last round of judging.
