Kingdom Builders' Family Life Center is a 501 (c) 3 Nonprofit Organization committed to serving people in need in the El Paso and Teller Counties by providing physical, spiritual, and emotional support through a variety of services such as mentoring, individual and family life skills education along with community outreach services
KBFLC strives to break the cycle of violence within families, and provide quality outreach services to low-income families. Those quality outreach services include, but are not limited to, school supplies give-a-ways, back to school bashes for all school aged children during the summer months, and various food, toiletries, toy, and coat drives throughout the calendar year. In addition to those services, KBFLC will provide life skills training, mentor programs, and safe/transitional housing which will provide the residents with education, and financial assistance and support.
Job description:
- Attend mentor orientation, four hours of pre-match training sessions and two-hour training sessions twice during each year of participation in the program.
- Make a commitment of a minimum of 15 months to mentoring a KBFLC
Student (approximately nine months during the program year and six months post-
graduation, or equivalent, depending on the program cycle.
- Meet in-person with program participant at a minimum for twelve (12) hours per month at the program location. Additional contact each month by phone or e-mail is also allowed, as needed.
- Focus attention on the student’s KBFLC Life Plan.
- Participate in quarterly service or group mentoring activities.
- Communicate twice a month with mentor coordinator.
- Participate in all ongoing training sessions.
- Attend program ceremonies, including a matching ceremony and a match celebration at
the end of the program year.
- Provide all needed data for program evaluation.

Description
Kingdom Builder’s Family Life Center (KBFLC) was founded in 2013 in Colorado Springs by Ms. Lisa Jenkins, a long-term victim advocate, case manager, and survivor of domestic abuse. The organization’s mission is to change the narrative of underserved individuals, families, and youth impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. KBFLC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS and the State of Colorado.
