Traditional job shadows bring students to the workplace. JA's Reverse Job Shadow brings the workplace to students! As a volunteer you are given a table to set up your display: signs, posters, brochures, products - anything you wish to bring. Dress as you would for a work day - don't hold back! Students visit each station on a rotational basis, asking questions and learning about the different types of careers presented.
Purpose
The purpose of the career day is to expose students to career possibilities and give them the opportunity to speak to area professionals about their profession, how to set goals, how they arrived to where they are, what their company does, etc. This is also an opportunity to recruit employees.
- Identify the next steps needed in their personal career exploration and preparation.
- Be exposed to potential job opportunities and/or internships.
- Develop job-hunting tools, such as networking, resumes, and interviewing skills.

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12 th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.
JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.
Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. Junior Achievement of North Florida is one of 115 JA Areas in the United States. JA of North Florida has been in operation since 1963 and serves youth in Duval, St. Johns, Clay and surrounding counties.
