Volunteer with us!
Exhale is the nation’s premiere organization addressing the emotional health and wellbeing of people after abortion. We strive to create a social climate in which each person's unique experience with abortion is respected, supported, and free from stigma.
If you are seeking:
a rewarding volunteer experience where you can develop and practice counseling skills;
to connect with real people in a compassionate way;
to create a peaceful culture around personal abortion experiences; and
to join an innovative organization with a national impact
then the Exhale Peer Counselor Program may be the right place for you!
We are now accepting applications to volunteer for our award-winning, national, multilingual, free, and confidential after- abortion talkline. The talkline provides emotional support, resources, and information to people who have had abortions, as well as to their partners, family, friends and allies.
Our 60-hour training will take place this Spring in Oakland, California. Volunteers make a 12-month service commitment after the training ends.
our upcoming training session will run on Tuesdays (6:00 to 9:00 pm) and Saturdays (10:00 am to 6:00 pm) from April 3rd to May 2nd, with an additional training session on June 2nd.
Training is held in-person in Oakland. Once a volunteer has successfully completed training, they will work with callers remotely.
