ORGANIZATION: JASPER RIDGE FARM

  • 4 people are interested

We are a non-profit organization that runs animal assisted therapeutic programs for people in need. We have several programs for children, and as part of those programs, we often times have art projects for the children to do when they're not visiting with the animals.

We could use help coming up with new art project ideas for children of all ages and with varying levels of special needs. We currently do projects such as using paint pens and stencils to create their own t-shirts and painting on small canvases.

Perhaps you have a new idea that you would like to share with us! You can also come onsite for one of the programs and run the art table yourself if you were interested.

Mission Statement

Inspired by the comforting power of animals, Jasper Ridge Farm provides a special experience for people in need.

Description

We are dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties who are facing physical and emotional challenges. Our goal is to bring unique experiences to these people through therapeutic interaction with gentle farm animals.

Our programs are offered free of charge to children facing life-threatening illness, those living with special needs, and for children or adults facing challenging family situations such as homelessness, neglect, or domestic violence. We also focus on helping youth struggling with mental health issues and have programs for Veterans, senior citizens, and inmates.

Animals provide love and unconditional acceptance. Our group of support animals, many of whom have been rescued, have endless love and kindness to give and we believe interacting with them provides comfort for people in need.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have switched the majority of our programming to be virtual.
