ChickTech Bay Area is looking for teaching assistants (TAs) to help with technical workshops for our High School Program kickoff event on January 12 - 13, 2019 from 9am - 5pm both days in San Francisco (at an office in SOMA/Financial District).
At this event, up to 100 high school girls will have the opportunity to explore technology careers by participating in one of seven technical workshops and meeting inspiring role models from the tech industry. Topics may include (but are not limited to) web development, web design, game development, and UX design. They will leave the event with new found confidence, their very own technology project, and inspiration to pursue a technical career. We need your help in transforming their lives!
ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. Through generous donations from local companies our events are offered free-of-charge to all participants.For more info about our ChickTech High School Program please visit our website.
Note:
+ A background check is required for all volunteers working with our students
+ Must attend an orientation session before the event
+ It is helpful for TAs to have some prior teaching or TA experience

Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
