Are you an experienced pet owner, with a keen eye and attention to detail? Do you love animals, and are committed to rescue? Consider being a foster for Rescue Purrfect!
Who can foster?
Fostering is open to families, couples, singles, full time workers, college and high school students with family approval. Have pets in your household? No problem!
How long is a fostering term?
Foster terms can vary from 2 weeks to several months, depending on the need of the kitten being placed in foster. Kittens/moms typically remain with fosters until kittens reach 3 lbs and are adopted out. Keeping them in foster care ensures that they stay healthy and ready for adoption.
Who needs to be fostered?
Kittens that are underweight or too young to be spay/neutered. Kittens or cats that need to be socialized in order to be ready for adoption. We work with our fosters to determine who they feel comfortable taking care of.
What do you need in order to foster?
Fostering requires a safe indoor home environment, suitable and secure for young kittens. Fosters need to be loving, attentive, and must invest time in continued care and handling (for socialization). Fosters should be hands-on and have a desire to learn new things. We also require fosters to have their own transportation in case kittens or cats need to be transported to the clinic for check ups, medical care, or meet and greets.
What does Rescue Purrfect provide?
Bowls, blankets and bedding, litter tray, and a cage (when available). Access to our vet through our foster coordinator, medical care, ongoing support and advice from our foster coordinator.
Is adopting your fosters an option?
Yes! We understand how easy it is to fall in love with your foster kittens! If you find that their furrever home is with you, we are glad to have them go to a great home!
