School on Wheels' mission is to enhance the education of children and youth in kindergarten through twelfth grade who are homeless: those living in shelters, motels, foster group homes and on the street. School on Wheels is the only organization whose volunteers go to their students-wherever they may be-to tutor them one-on-one for one hour a week during the school year. Your help is needed so that these children and youth have the opportunity to succeed in school.
Join L.A. Works RSVP and School on Wheels for a one-stop -shop orientation event and learn how you can volunteer to tutor a homeless child! Attendees will receive an orientation, have one-on-one interviews and provide their availability to start volunteering. Volunteers must be age 55+ and an L.A. Works RSVP member; volunteers can join RSVP onsite.
