This post is for our biomedical services (blood services) division for Southern California region.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
The American Red Cross has a rich history as leaders in blood banking. We strive to provide an opportunity for donors to give blood, and for volunteers to help in a variety of direct and indirect ways to contribute to saving lives. The American Red Cross is funded based on volunteer hours and we need your support to keep us moving.
Did you know? It is required to have a Registered Nurse (RN) on-site at Blood Drives in California?
Accidents happen, and life happens. We sometimes need to cancel blood drives due to not having a Registered Nurse available to attend. One cancelled blood drive means lots of blood donations missed, which also equates to many lives who count on the blood being donated that won't receive it in time.
Please join us on our mission to reduce cancelled blood drives and missed blood donation opportunities by being an American Red Cross Volunteer Registered Nurse.

Requirements:
*An active CA. R.N. license.
*Commitment of 2 or more blood drives per month for 6 or more months.
*Ability to be on-call and/or to have a set weekly schedule.
*Flexibility to attend a 2-day orientation & 5-day training in Pomona, CA. (normally a couple weeks in between)
Benefits may be available if you qualify:

-Obtaining a recommendation/reference letter.
-Mileage reimbursement for volunteers.
Contribute by assisting blood donors through the collection process and support our collections team with unregulated duties at blood drives. You can make a world of difference.
