Complete a one hour training with a JA staff member and then sign up to serve for a total of 5-6 hours in a local Central Contra Costa classroom. You will receive a bag full of step-by-step facilitating instructions and all of the materials to lead fun, hands-on activities with a class. Most opportunities require one, 60-minute visit a week over 5-6 weeks.

Please note you must be over 18 to be a volunteer and have access to reliable personal transportation. JA's volunteer opportunities take place during the school day (Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm).

Schools in need of volunteers in the Mt. Diablo/Lamorinda region are Burton Valley Elementary(Lafayette), Christ the King(Pleasant Hill), Las Juntas Elementary(Martinez), and Concord High(Concord). Start dates, weekdays, and times vary.
