YWCA Dayton will honor seven women during its 2018 Women of Influence awards luncheon on March 8, 2018, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Dayton Convention Center. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the award; with an average attendance of 800, it is the single largest daytime nonprofit luncheon in Dayton.
Since 1998, the YWCA Dayton WOI Awards have recognized and honored the most influential women in the Dayton area, visionaries who have made a difference in our community through their dedication to the YWCA mission of empowering women, eliminating racism, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
DESCRIPTION: Working in teams of 2-3 people each, you’ll greet attendees - all 800 of them! - of our Women of Influence luncheon as they arrive, help them find their table assignment, provide directions within the building, and help them hang up their outerwear.
TRAINING: All materials and instructions will be provided onsite.
PREPARATION: Dress is business casual; please wear black bottoms, white tops. Name tags will be provided onsite. A jacket is recommended as the Dayton Convention Center tends to be chilly. Must be enthusiastic, have good communication skills, and be able to walk/stand for an extended period and read a printed list.
WHEN: Thursday, March 8, 2018 | 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
WHERE: Please report to Room 207 of the Dayton Convention Center, 22 E. Fifth St., Dayton, OH 45402. Ample metered parking is available surrounding the Center, or garage parking is available for a fee in the Transportation Center Garage (entrance on East Fifth Street). Parking is not validated.
IMPACT: Your effort will help us ensure a smooth and successful Women of Influence Awards Luncheon, which is celebrating its 21 st year in 2018. The luncheon recognizes women leaders in our community who have made a significant impact on our region by using their influence and leadership to further and/or support the YW mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
This event is a signature fundraiser for YWCA Dayton, and all proceeds support our key programs: the only domestic violence shelters in Montgomery and Preble counties and the longest-running 24/7 crisis hotline (937-222-SAFE) in both counties; single-room occupancy housing for nearly 100 women in the Dayton area; and Girls Inc. afterschool and onsite programming that builds leadership development, self-esteem, and goal-planning in girls 11-18.
PERFECT FOR: Corporate groups; fraternities/sororities; school service clubs; networking groups.
