Thank you for wanting to volunteer.
Hi, we are Graceland Hospice Care and we are seeking volunteers to provide companionship to our patients.
There isn't a long and drawn out application and orientation process. Application and orientation can be given consecutively and it will only take 3 hours (light refreshments are always available).
Here at Graceland, our volunteers are given the same courtesy as employees. Meaning, our volunteers are team members.
We are on your schedule. The amount of time you give is entirely up to you
This Opportunity is great for Students who require Community Service Hours
Your time will be spent
Watching a movie or television show
playing card games
Listening to music
Talking about their funny memorable moments
Sorting mail
Polishing fingernails
drawing and other arts & crafts activities
Sitting with the patient while family runs errands
Having lunch and eating together
You will also get to participate in Special Projects
Cupcake Birthday visits
Veteran's Day appreciation
Recruitment of other volunteers - serve as a guest speaker
Various Office tasks
Volunteers do not

Description
Graceland Hospice Care is a grassroots organization who is flourishing, every member on the team has previous hospice experience or arrived with an acute medical background, our physicians are experts in the delivery of the hospice philosophy, we are community oriented and dedicated to "doing it right" the first time. We provide hospice services to patients wherever they call home and are committed to providing quality, compassionate care to patients and their families at end-of-life.
