Have you ever thought that easy conversation, listening and empathy were your best qualities, or wanted to work in the office of a worthy cause, use your sewing skills to make a valued keepsake, or bake tasty treats for patients and their families (to name a few ways you can help!)? If you answered "Yes!" to any of these questions, then becoming a Joliet Area Community Hospice Volunteer may be just what you're looking for!

The mission of Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is to provide comprehensive, holistic, community-based support service and care for terminally ill persons, their caregivers, and loved ones without regard to economic status; to enable the dying person to live peacefully, in comfort and with dignity to the last moment of life.
Description
For over 40 years, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care have provided individualized, expert, hospice care for adults and children diagnosed with a limited life expectancy, palliative care for adults and children with a life-limiting illness without a terminal prognosis, and bereavement services to patients families and the greater community.
