Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

Make an impact on your community using your professional financial and presentation skills! Your experience in financial analysis and reporting will help us develop a dashboard to more effectively communicate the impact of our services to staff, board members, donors and the community.

We are looking for an experienced financial analyst or finance manager to help us. The Volunteer will work closely with the Director of Community Services and her staff to develop a dashboard based on the existing Product Delivery report.

Responsibilities:

Using the existing monthly statistical Product Delivery report, the Volunteer will create a dashboard that can be used for management presentations and communication. The Volunteer will work with staff to clarity and refine the story that needs to be told through the dashboard. We want to incorporate graphics and graphs to show month-to-month and year-to-year variances and trends. The Volunteer will also be asked to document the monthly update procedures.

The ideal Volunteer will work with us after the initial dashboard release to help us prepare and refine our monthly reporting package.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel, Google docs, or similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, communicating well with staff
  • Relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis, and management presentations
  • Willingness to promote the mission and activities of SHFB with enthusiasm.

We’d like the dashboard to be completed by June 2018.

Hours are flexible but must be agreed with the work supervisor. The Volunteer may work remotely, but must be available for periodic on-site meetings with staff at our San Carlos or San Jose location.

This is a unique chance to use the skills and expertise you developed over your career to create a lasting impact for your community.
