We are looking for high school students and young adults, ages 14 and up, to serve as volunteer Student Counselors during Spring Break Camp. Your role is to facilitate the camp experience for our campers, ages 5 to 13. On Friday, we will take our campers and counselors to The Texas for a fun morning of bowling, Kids Quest and lunch at The Feast Buffet. You provide lunch Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No experience with horses needed, but experience working with and mentoring children (babysitting is great experience) is very helpful. Counselors also will be asked to lead activity stations/rotations, including Archery, Obstacle Course, Slack Lines, sports, Capture the Flag, frisbee, etc. We play hard and have lots of fun, all day, every day. No cell phones, tablets or TV. Old-fashioned fun. Email camps@horses4heroes.org if this sounds like a good fit for you. Do not SHOW UP, you must email us to complete the application process. If you show up, you will be sent away.

Our mission is to make horseback riding affordable for, and accessible to those in our community whose Call of Duty is to protect and serve, including Active Duty service members, veterans, First Responders, school teachers, nurses and their families. We also serve veterans with PTS/MST/TBI, domestic violence victims, recovering addicts, at-risk youth and others who need a hand up, not a hand out.l
Description
Las Vegas-based Horses4Heroes is the only national non-profit that owns its own horses and uses those horses every day in programs to empower, engage, inspire, educate and enterain. The non-profit operates the Horses4Heroes Community Equestrian Center, located within historic Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. Here we give lessons, hold camps, host birthday parties, special events, Girl Scouts and more. We serve all ages from 2 to adult.
