Reporting to the Meta volunteer of the Technical Team, the Windows Systems Administrator is an integral part in the success of Advance Social Innovation. The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of all Windows based systems for ASI volunteers. The administrator co-ordinates with vendors managing the equipment and systems to identify faults, resolve incident tickets and complete all fixes/configurations/development to meet SLA performance requirements.

Responsibilities
Experience with Public and Private Cloud Services. Ability to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Proven experience working with remote teams.
Works closely with internal and external groups to coordinate plans and activities that involve the maintenance and set up of servers and their network connectivity and the installation, configuration and deployment of windows based applications.
Assists management and senior levels on developing system standards and analysing user and application requirements. Make recommendations in reference to Windows equipment, storage, and user groups. Assigns application access, security, and ensures their profiles are within standards.
Serves as a technical resource to other departments and project groups and external providers. Helps source equipment and Windows related software, apply for management approvals and external grants.
Experience in writing Technical Contract documents - Purchase and Maintenance Contracts, Service Level Agreements, etc.
Works with vendors to monitor and evaluate contracts, SLAs and the overall system to ensure optimum performance. Identifies errors and conducts tests to isolate problems. Troubleshoots malfunctions on hardware and software to keep new and existing systems operational. Prepare reports on system performance. Provides expert level diagnosis and correction of system problems. Develops problem diagnosis and correction documents.
Monitors incident management, help desk tickets in relation to Windows services. Ensures tickets are being responded to in accordance with the prescribed service levels set by management

Skills/Qualification Preferred
5-10 hours volunteer engagement per week
5+ years of experience supporting and implementing Microsoft Windows and related compute infrastructure
VMware (vSphere) and ESXI. Networks, PCs, Active Directory, SAN / NAS experience. Scripting experience (command line, PowerShell).
Should be able to work independently with min supervision - be able to prioritise tasks and work on tight deadlines. Ideally has worked as a freelance programmer or has similar volunteer experience.
Support the CI tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Chef and Artifactory. Monitor and enhance the internal Cloud.
Maintains familiarity with information security policies, baselines and procedures. Conducts all tasks in accordance with the requirement to comply with security controls

Software Tools & Program Knowledge
Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 and later OS releases
Experience with enterprise backup software such as DataProtector, virtualization tools like VMWare or Hyper-V
System management & monitoring and alerting tools such SolarWinds, WSUS, etc.
MS Office suite of products
