Reporting to the Meta volunteer of the Technical Team, the Sr System Analyst is an integral part in the success of Advance Social Innovation. The Sr System Analyst will implement computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems; designing and testing standards and solutions. The Analyst studies an organization’s current computer systems and procedures and designs information systems solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities
Defines application problem by conferring with internal and external clients; evaluating procedures and processes.
Analyzes 'As Is" and proposes "To Be" solutions
Research emerging technologies to decide if installing them can increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare an analysis of costs and benefits so that management can decide if information systems and computing infrastructure upgrades are financially worthwhile
Provides solution by establishing specifications; getting stakeholder approvals, coordinating production with programmers and testers
Validates results by preparing Test plans, scripts, test data, training user teams and ensuring viable software releases.
Ensures operation by training client personnel; providing support.
Provides reference by writing documentation.
Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualification Preferred

5-10 hours volunteer engagement per week
5+ years of experience as a Business / Systems Analyst handling multiple projects
BS/MS degree in IT / Computer Science with PMP/Agile certification.
Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing and completion of 3 software Development lifecycles
Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
Ability to communicate with business and technical leaders to understand technology/technical-related choices and create related stories
Experience defining requirements for development and delivering API’s and services
Strong analytical skills to understand business requirements and decompose into more granular level requirements
Effective communication skills; listening, written and verbal; ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical
Good experience in writing SQL queries, testing software, preparing test plans, test data, training user teams.
Has experience with Data modelling and analysis, preparation of EDM
Has strong time management and research skills, deals with complexity comfortably, and works quickly without sacrificing quality
Strong ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities, and appropriately prioritize based upon business needs
Strong troubleshooting abilities to get to the source of problems, think critically regarding possible risk based solutions and establish mitigation plans to reduce recurrence
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Display the high level of critical thinking in order to weigh alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with the business strategy
Possesses strong risk assessment and prioritization skills
Must be a team player

Software Tools & Program Knowledge
Experience J2EE, PHP, .NET custom web and mobile development and customization of COTS products
Experience with systems like CRM, Document Management Systems, Volunteer & Grant Management systems
Experience with User Experience / User Interface design
Proficient with MS Office suite of products, modelling tools like Visio or Adobe suite
Knowledge of basic HTML 5, XML, JavaScript and comfortable with code.
Strong SQL skills and familiar with Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL or similar
