Empower Those Transitioning from Homelessness and Foster Care 3/24/18

Come help us transform a house into a home for a homeless family or foster youth transitioning to self-sufficiency. By providing beds, tables, dishes, etc, we ease the burden of our clients trying to furnish an empty apartment while working toward becoming self-sustainable. Those we serve can then focus on work, school and caring for their families. We meet at our storage unit, Armored Self Storage, 14245 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, 85044 at 7:30am. We will load the truck, drive to client’s home, unload the truck, set up the furniture and unpack household items. Volunteers are asked to carpool or drive themselves to the delivery location. Location of delivery will be determined closer to this work date. Able-bodied volunteers may be asked to lift heavy items and/or assemble furniture. There are less strenuous volunteer activities as well (unpacking boxes and making beds). A Volunteer Waiver and Confidentiality Agreement will need to be signed before work can begin. Times may vary depending on location of client’s home and number of moves to be completed. We usually finish work by noon.
