The WCRBClassical Cartoon Festival is happening on Saturday March 24 at Boston’s Symphony Hall located on 301 Massachusetts Avenue. We need your help to ensure kids of all ages enjoy classical music, their favorite Warner Bros. cartoons on a giant screen, live performances, sample different instruments at the Instrument Playground, and more during the event.

Please review all volunteer position descriptions listed below and email Volunteer Manager Jaime Reese at jaime_reese@wgbh.org if you would like to help. Be sure to include the following information in your email response:

- Full name (first and last)

- Preferred position (e.g. kids activity area, face painter, etc. ** If you’d like to be a costume character, please note your character preference based on the size requirement provided below)

- Preferred shift: 9am-1:30pm, 1-5pm or 9am-5pm (full day)

Available Positions:

Costume Character

Wear a costume (see below) and interact with guests. To limit costume sharing, costume character volunteers must commit to volunteering the entire day (9am-5pm) with multiple snack and water breaks throughout the day. Lunch will be provided, too.

  • Digit from Cyberchase (5’4"-5’9", average build)

Costume Handler

Help costume character move safely about the crowds at Symphony Hall; speak on behalf of the character you are handling. Afternoon shift (1-5pm) only.

Face Painter

Design simple color images on kids’ faces. **Sample drawings will be provided as examples.

Kids Activity Area

Assist kids with coloring projects, arts and crafts, computer-based games and other engaging interactive activities.

Line Manager

Help with character line management making sure the line flows smoothly.

Map Distribution

Map distributors will provide activity maps to children and families. Maps will be stamped at each activity station.

Volunteer Photographer’s Assistant

Walk with photographers during the event, record names of people in pictures and ask guests in photos to complete an appearance release form.
