Mission Statement

The Onalaska Public Library is the free public library service of the City of Onalaska. It will provide recreational, informational and educational services to all adults and juveniles; will provide the most wanted materials, print and non-print, as defined by public demand and fiscal ability; will develop broad community awareness of the library and its services; and will supplement, but not necessarily duplicate the materials and/or services of other area libraries.

Onalaska Public Library opened our doors in 2002 and is located between City Hall and the Police Department. Stop by and see the library’s display of historic Onalaska photos from 1800s. The library maintains a collection of books, bake ware, DVDs and CDs that is regularly update with purchases and donations. We have four computers for patron use which are equipped with free Internet access. We also have free wireless access if you want to use your own computer. Children are very important to us. LEGOs and other building supplies are available for use. The back corner is an area for quite play or parent led reading. Ask at the front desk about special programs for summertime.

We'll work with your schedule.
