Mentor2.0 is in the midst of its second year with Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak.

Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak partnered with Atlas Preparatory School to serve its high school students by providing each with a mentor from the community of Colorado Springs.

Last school year, we matched every freshman student with a mentor. This year, we are still trying to match the current freshman class. We are close, but still need about 15 more volunteer mentors.

Mentor2.0 matches students with college-educated mentors, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for college and the workforce. The majority of the mentorship is done over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship" - this allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules. In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Volunteers must be 21 years old and have the equivalent credit hours of a two-year degree. Volunteers must also be willing to commit to the program for four years, as we try to make matches from freshman year through graduation - we want the students to have an example of consistency and commitment in their lives.
