***Due to COVID-19 Precautions and to ensure the safety of our patients and volunteers we are currently not placing volunteers with patients. However, you may get involved by sending homemade cards to our office to distribute to our patients (birthday, thinking of you, etc). We will be updating this listing as more information becomes available. Please email kari.floreslefranc@silverado.com for more information. Updated 6.22.2020
Silverado Hospice needs volunteers to help us care for our hospice patients. Some patients need someone to talk to, share memories with, spend a pleasant hour with. Some patients need someone to sit with them while their caregiver takes a couple of hours away. If you can give 3 or 4 hours a month, we will match you up with a patient near your location. You will go through a comprehensive orientation to teach you all you need to know and we will "hold your hand" every step of the way. Come learn how you can help people in their time of
greatest need. Calll (512) 827-6895 for more information.

Description
Hospice volunteers are ordinary people of all ages with extraordinary love and a common bond; the concern for others. Our volunteers are an integral part of our Circle of Care team, meeting patient and family needs in many different ways including:
- Providing companionship and socialization
- Providing needed non-medical services, letter writing, running errands and assisting with family needs
- Providing office support for direct patient care activities
Silverado Hospice patients and families experience L.I.F.E. ( Love, Innovation, Family and Engagement ) through our special hospice programs. Turn a few hours a week into priceless moments for hospice patients and families.
