IHS is looking for volunteers to work alongside our operations staff to assist with managing our emergency and specialty shelters. Volunteer positions are as follows: janitorial, office, front desk receptionist, donations assistant, & general custodial work.
Duties may include general janitorial or custodial work, light office work, greeting and directing requests for assistance from guests or over the phone, sorting & organizing donations, disposing of unusable items. You will be interacting with the homeless, those guests staying at our emergency shelter, and IHS staff.
Due to the amount of time it takes to invest in training volunteers, IHS' operations staff are looking for regular, long-term volunteers if possible.
With the ever-increasing demands on various agencies dedicated to helping the homeless, your help, in partnership with our staff, will directly impact our guests and help reduce the island's homeless population.
