RG is a nonprofit organization that helps families in need of genome research.

You will work on the Patient Advocacy Team (PAT) in Rare Genomics Institute.

As a Patient Advocate, you will:

Walk incoming RG families through the process of obtaining clinical sequencing, analysis, results and further research.

You will be responsible to attend weekly PAT calls and rotate being "on-call" with other advocates to follow up with all weekly patient applications.

You will manage the whole process for any applications are that are received when you’re On Call..

You will schedule a phone call with them to explain to them the RG process and answer any questions they may have.

You will work to get them connected to a site

Once connected, you will coordinate anything needed for sequencing such as method of payment, shipment of samples, completion of required forms from RG sites, etc.

You will record preferably in real-time all updates for all families on a Google doc and present your updates on our weekly PAT calls. Helping rare disease families is an extremely rewarding experience. However, the ability to promptly carry out responsibilities of the job is essential.
