Do you love horses? Love children and being active? Pride Stables offers a unique volunteer opportunity!
No horse experience is necessary! Training provided.
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older.
We need volunteers for our summer evening classes to lead horses or side-walk for riders with special needs. As a leader, you will need the ability to understand and carry out direct instructions. As a side-walker, you will need to comprehend instructions and be able to pass them on to the rider and will also need to physically assist/support the rider if needed. Both positions require physical endurance, good verbal skills and excellent comprehension.
We ask our volunteers to commit to at least one class per week for a full 4-week session.
We are currently recruiting for our August session.
Summer classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. They are 45 minutes in length, however, volunteers are required to arrive 30 minutes early to groom and tack-up their horse, as well as to untack after class.
