In an effort to increase access to healthy food, The Salvation Army has partnered with Second Harvest Heartland for a free monthly produce giveaway for community members. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with people and want to help increase community access to healthy food. Up to 10 volunteers are needed to help setup, distribute food, and cleanup afterwards from 8:15 am to 11:30 am.

Volunteers should be able to lift at least 30 pounds, be on your feet for an extended period of time, and (during summer months) willing to work outside.

Description

The Salvation Army offers social services and recreational programs with the goal of addressing specific physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of each family, individual, child/youth, or elderly person. Services provided include, but not limited to: emergency food shelves, school supply programs, rental/utility assistance, educational programs, outreach to the homeless, family and youth camping, community center programs, Christmas assistance programs, nursing home visitations, corrections programs, and disaster services. We are Here to Help!
