The after school program is in search of a new martial arts coach. We currently have a group of 9 students (3rd-5th) that meet twice a week to practice Tae Kwon Doe, anti-bullying and self-defense. We are hoping to be able to continue this club, or replace it with something similar.
The after school program operates Mon-Thursday. Clubs generally meet between 4:00 - 6:00 so the day and time is flexible.
Volunteers would have to complete a background check (no cost).
If you are interested in learning more please contact Tiffany.

Mission Statement
To develop, successfully implement and spread an innovative, sustainable, and replicable model of educational reform that will improve student outcomes while effecting systemic change. In doing so, the Baltimore Curriculum Project will raise the educational standards and possibilities for disadvantaged youth, Baltimore City schools and the Baltimore City school system alike.
Description
Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) was founded in 1996 with a single purpose: to transform the educational landscape in Baltimore City with research-based educational strategies, intensive teacher training, and extensive support for principals. BCP, in partnership with the Baltimore City school system, is the largest charter operator in Maryland with a network of some of the most highly acclaimed neighborhood charter schools in the state: Hampstead Hill Academy, Govans Elementary, Wolfe Street Academy, City Springs Elementary and Middle, and, new for the 2017-2018 school year, Frederick Elementary.
Wolfe Street Academy is a Community School and Conversion Charter School. We serve students and their families in the Upper Fells Point neighborhood, providing high quality academic programming and helping families develop resources that allow them to overcome barriers to success. Our school serves over 200 students from Pre-K to 5th grade on a site that has housed a succession of public schools since 1852. The buildings have changed but these schools have always served the most recent immigrant population who seek new and better lives in Baltimore. Over 80% of our students speak a language other than English at home and 96% of our students come from low-income households. Wolfe Street Academy has been offering its own comprehensive and robust after school program for 10 years.
