Are you an appreciator of life stories? We hope you will consider exploring the opportunity to support legacy projects as a hospice volunteer with Kaiser Permanente Washington.

Based on the tradition of legacy letters or "ethical will" writing, legacy videos can be a more feasible way for people who are approaching the end of their lives to share stories, values, hopes, fears, and expressions of love. These powerful, visual keepsakes can also become an important part of the grieving and healing process for bereaved family members.

Video volunteers work together with our hospice teams, and directly with a spiritual care counselor during the recording session, to provide this meaningful service for patients and families who are interested in legacy videos.

Volunteers must be willing to drive to visit with patients in a variety of care settings in either King, Snohomish, Pierce and/or Kitsap counties, following updated COVID-19 precautions guidance provided by KPWA.

For more information on this innovative approach to an ancient tradition, please respond to this post or email KPWA.HospiceVolunteers@kp.org.
