Bay Area Older Adults, Inc. is currently seeking a volunteer bookkeeper to 1) post information to Quickbooks Desktop to create financial transactions 2) perform a monthly close and reconciliation of accounts to ensure their accuracy and 3) create financial reports from that information. This person would work predominately from home but may need to travel to the corporate headquarters with some regularity.

About Bay Area Older Adults: We are a small, volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for older adults.

We are seeking candidates who possess the following skills:

* Knowledge of GAAP accounting

* Experience and comfort doing accrual basis accounting and adjusting journal entries

* Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and good working understanding of most components

* Experience with startups, small businesses, and/or non-profits

* Experience maintaining an orderly accounting filing system including the chart of account

* Experience doing a significant portion of the monthly close

* Experience conducting periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy

* Professional written communication

* Detail oriented

* Fast and efficient

* Managing time and tasks effectively in a work from home, results driven environment
