Olive Crest Volunteer: Child Care

Olive Crest is in need of volunteers with a keen ability to provide child care based on children’s varying personality, age and circumstances. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child and family that attends our facility. Volunteers provide a safe environment for children to allow caregivers to participate in foster and adoption specific trainings and support groups.

Duties:

• Supervise and monitor the safety of children ages 2-12 years old
• Engage with fun activities (games, puzzles, pretend play)
• Teach children positive cleanliness and social interaction skills
• Provide for the emotional comfort of children
• Trauma-informed care (provide age appropriate consequences as needed)

Schedule:

• Varies

• Monday-Friday evenings
• Ranges from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • We ask for a commitment of at least twice a month for six months
  • Excludes holidays

Requirements:

• Over the age of 18
• TB Tested negative
• CPR Certified preferred (not required)
• Ability to lift 10 lbs as needed
• Previous experience with young children
• Basic knowledge of trauma-informed care
• Positive communication skills
• Fun attitude!
