Our volunteer team spends time with terminally ill patients and visit as a friend. You will share in enjoyable activities such as reading, talking, engaging in favorite patient hobbies to bring normalcy and relief into the home. Our volunteer team also provides relief to the family so they can be rejuvenated as a caregiver, go shopping, or keep doctor appointments while their loved one has companionship from a volunteer. Our volunteers often become the highlight of the day when arriving to visit the family/ patient.

Description
Hospice volunteers find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Many of our volunteers are introduced to hospice thorough the death of a family member and understand firsthand the value of hospice care, but nearly 20% of volunteers are new to hospice. Volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying but about living.
