ORGANIZATION: Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is part of a national volunteer program that provides free and unbiased counseling services to Medicare beneficiaries. Counselors empower seniors to make informed decisions about their health insurance coverage-- often helping them save hundreds or even thousands of dollars in the process.

SHINE is currently recruiting volunteers for Glades County. No experience is necessary-- training is provided! You'll help seniors in need across the county.

Being a SHINE counselor can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Since SHINE started in 1993, SHINE counselors have helped Florida seniors and their caregivers save millions of dollars. Navigating the maze of Medicare options can be a complex process, but SHINE counselors give guidance and peace of mind to Florida seniors.

For more information on how you can become a Medicare-trained volunteer counselor, please call the Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida, Helpline at 1-866-413-5337 or visit www.FloridaSHINE.org.
