The Baby Pantry is open each Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. We provide free diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, clothing, and more to any Gratiot County resident with a child under the age of 5. It's a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment that creates a rewarding experience for clients and volunteers alike.
We rely on volunteers to help us run the Baby Pantry when it's open, and with sorting, organizing, and cleaning when it's closed. Volunteer responsibilities for our open hours include opening/closing the Baby Pantry, greeting clients, assisting with paperwork, data collection, diaper and food distribution, accepting incoming donations, sorting clothes, and plenty of baby holding. There is something for everyone!
We are looking to expand our two volunteer teams who work during open hours:
First and Third Wednesday of the Month or
Second and Fourth Wednesday of the Month
Our volunteers arrive at 10:30 a.m., and leave by 3:15 p.m. each scheduled Wednesday. The Baby Pantry is open every Wednesday except for direct holidays and when Alma Public Schools close due to weather.
Volunteers are required to fill out an application, complete an interview, pass background checks, and go through a brief training.
