Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Do you enjoy working one on one helping people? Are you interested in assisting people, understand what they need and where to find those resources and support or simply being a listening ear? Helpline Specialist volunteers support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by listening and connecting them with information and area resources and support. Working out of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Charlotte Office through outbound phone calls, Helpline Specialists assess individuals' needs and provide information and referrals. We are looking for customer service oriented and compassionate individuals to join our team of committed and dedicated volunteers serving individuals and families across our 49 county region of the Alzheimer’s Association - Western Carolina Chapter.
Interested individuals will make a year commitment and work a regular weekly or biweekly shift.
