Volunteers can be the catalyst to ensuring that community needs are met, yet many nonprofits lack the resources to adequately prepare for volunteer involvement. As a result, volunteers are often underutilized and can become discouraged by poorly managed opportunities. Empower a nonprofit to fully harness the time and talent of much needed volunteers, by creating the nuts and bolts of an effective volunteer program.

Participants in United Way of King County’s Volunteer Manager Corps program will be matched with a local nonprofit and volunteer approximately 10 hours per week, during the weekday, from February through May. VMC Members will receive training, access to tools and materials, as well as ongoing support in order further develop their host site’s volunteer program. A $400 service award is available upon successful completion of the 150 hour term.

Whether you are a seasoned professional looking to get involved in the nonprofit sector or an up and coming professional looking to deepen your skills, you can have a very real impact through VMC.

The Volunteer Manager Corps program was developed in partnership with the United Way of King County, but is managed by 501 Commons. To learn more about 501 Commons, or to become a VMC Member, please visit Space is limited so please contact to check on available slots.
