We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 79 th Covestro Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair (Covestro PRSEF) which connects more than 1,100 students in grades 6-12 with our area’s scientists and engineers. The competition takes place at Heinz Field - Club Levels.
Mark your calendar for Friday, March 23, 2018! There also are opportunities to help at the awards ceremony on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
The following opportunities are available on Friday, March 23:
SET-UP ASSISTANTS - 6:30a - 9:30a (need 30 volunteers)
You will serve as the students' first point-of-contact on the project floor. You will help each student to find his/her project's location, and help with larger or multi-piece project displays. More than 1,000 students are expected, and that means more than 1,000 projects will need to be set up between 7:00am and 9:00am. Wear your running shoes! Plan to be busy, busy, busy! You will no doubt have FUN in what will seem like organized chaos!
SET-UP ASSISTANTS/INSPECTORS - 6:30a - 9:30a (need 45 volunteers)
See description above for set-up assistant. You can help out with that until inspecting is needed. As an inspector, you are the most powerful volunteer. You will receive a list of requirements and a checklist to assist in your review of student projects. After they've completed set-up, each student will raise an ORANGE inspection sheet-your cue to do your thing. More than 1,000 students are expected, and that means more than 1,000 projects will need to be inspected between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00am.
PHOTO ASSISTANTS, 9:30a - 12:30p (need 8 volunteers)
You will assist the photographers to ensure that every student is photographed.
STUDENT GUIDES - 6:30a - 10:30a, 9:30a - 1:30p or 12p - 4p (need 10 volunteers per time slot)
You will be strategically placed within Heinz Field and outside of Carnegie Science Center to assist with student flow, ensuring that students move from place to place in a safe and timely manner. Have FUN!

The following opportunity is available on Saturday, March 24:
AWARD CEREMONY ASSISTANTS 8:30a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (need 30 volunteers)
You will be in all club levels of Heinz Field directing attendees to the awards ceremony.
