Sisters Place is raising a glass in the name of charity on March 5, 2020, at its 18th Annual Crushed Grapes Wine Tasting event. Featuring the finest of wines, specialty beer, delicious hors d’oeuvres, live music and a wide range of silent auction items, this year’s event aims to please both wine enthusiasts and those simply interested in helping the less fortunate while having a great time.

In addition to fine food and drink, there are a limited number of available VIP tickets for this year’s Crushed Grapes event. For $100, VIP ticket holders will be able to enter the event a half hour early to enjoy a special sparkling wine tasting, as well as a chance to win fabulous prizes in an exclusive drawing. General admission tickets are now on sale for $65 in advance and $75 at the door.

(Set-up volunteers can come back that night to the event)

Set-Up Tasks will include: room set-up (tables, linens, chairs); Silent Auction arrangement (staging items); signage placement; glassware set-up; food station placement (napkins, plates, etc.)

Event Tasks include: Wine & Food servers at set stations; 50/50 support; Silent Auction tables support; Greeting/program handout

Volunteers will be able to attend the event free of charge, and breaks will be set up to enable the volunteers to experience the event as well. Sisters Place will be able to sign off on any volunteer hour requirements for volunteers who assist.

Please contact Pamela Williams at to request any further information and to RSVP to volunteer. Please indicate what time you will be available that day. THANK YOU!

Mission Statement

sisters Place is a supportive housing community committed to assisting single parent families who are homeless in Southwestern PA. Our mission is to assist families toward self-sufficiency by providing housing and supportive services.

Sisters Place offers many programs and services to our families. Parents and kids at Sisters Place are provided with all of the basic tools and supportive services that they need to become self-sufficient, and break the cycle of poverty. Sisters Place provides case management, goal planning, counseling, education and job training for mothers and fathers in residence. In addition, we provide parenting education, family activities and in-home supportive services to help build safer and healthier home environments. Support groups and educational seminars occur at our Program Center on a regular basis. Parental participation in the children’s programs is highly encouraged as a tool to strengthen family relationships.

Other services include a monthly food distribution coordinated through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, subsidized rent, assistance with transportation, and much more. The goal is to empower the parents to make conscious choices that can positively impact the quality of their lives, of their children, and of the community.
