ORGANIZATION: Recycling Advocates

2017 Volunteer Meeting

Join Recycling Advocates on for a quick and fun training session on how to become part of the Bring Your Own Cup Campaign. Be part of the team that visits coffee shops to learn what is being done to reduce waste created by the one-time-use white paper cup, through incentives to bring your own cup and durable dine-in options. We have fun and effective BYOC tools to offer them!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 10th, starting at 1:30pm

Agenda

1:30 pm

  • Learn about the Bring Your Own Coffee Cup Campaign ( BYOCC) and how to talk to local coffee shop owners and managers encouraging the use of durables and BYOC to reduce the one time use, non-recyclable "paper cup." All materials provided.
  • Learn about Recycling Advocates and the BYOC Campaign
  • Practice conducting a coffee shop survey

2:30 pm

Go out and survey and talk to a local shop on your own, with a partner or one of us. We will have a list of opportunities throughout the Metro area, including shops near where you work or live.

3:30 pm

If you wish, rejoin us and share your experiences at New Seasons.

Once familiar with the survey, you can continue to volunteering to reach out to coffee shops. We hope to visit the over 250 area coffee shops in our campaign, with a goal of signing up 50 coffee shops by the end of 2018.

Remember, time spent on this campaign counts as Master Recycler volunteer hours!
