Director of Food Pantry for Christian Family Baptist Church (Volunteer), progressing to a paid position:
Supervised by Church Administrator
Responsible for the overall integrity of the food ministry.
Responsible for the acquisition and of food, storage, and distribution to clients. This includes the evaluation of inventory and processing orders for each distribution event.
Oversees all aspects of the food bank operations. The director's duties can be divided primarily into four areas of focus--food; budget; site operations and public relations.
Performs Site coordinator responsibilities for the San Antonio Food Bank.
Acts as liaison for military and civilian volunteer recruiting efforts.
Establishes and maintains partnerships with organizations and individuals to collaborate to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Chairs the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.
Initiates and oversees all fundraising activities, such as the annual banquet, biannual fish fries, etc.
Collaborates with other hunger fighting organizations to raise support and raise funds such as San Antonio Food Bank’s annual hunger walk.
Responsible for keeping excellent records of deposits and expenditures.
Serves as the primary agent for training personnel-conducts regular training workshops and follow-up. The food director also needs to develop eligibility guidelines and oversee the eligibility of recipients.
Must have a positive public persona and be willing to promote awareness of hunger throughout the community through public presentations, press conferences and interviews.
The director must be flexible in work schedule and be available to respond to unforeseen needs and unexpected emergencies.
