By volunteering at our ranch and thrift store, you will be supporting rescued horses and children at risk in experiencing life changing programs! We also need fundraisers, event planners, Technology experts, computer people and many other types of talents to help run our organization.

SVHC utilizes volunteers to assist in classes and to evaluate, retrain and rehabilitate rescued horses so they may partner with us in our educational programs. We offer free training for our volunteers so they may assist in training the horses and in our educational programs for children. This training includes groundwork, de-sensitization, communication cues, round pen work, bodywork and riding. Volunteers are able to participate in all education programs and training at no charge.

There is something "magical" that happens when a horse shows a child (or adult) what they are thinking and how they are being, in ways they are not aware of. The horse essentially "tells" us when we are being successful or not, by being reflections for our behavior. Success in this regard, refers to those thoughts, attitudes and actions that need to be present to support a happy and fulfilling life.

The horse shows us when we are thinking good thoughts or bad thoughts, by being relaxed when we are thinking positive thoughts and being nervous and fearful when we are allowing negative thoughts. By thinking the correct thoughts, which directly affects our energy, the horse partners with us and will collaborate in all sorts of fun activities. Horses - because of their hyper-vigilance and loving, intelligent nature can raise our awareness about ourselves by being mirrors for our behavior.

Mission Statement

To build Self-Leadership Skills in children & adults through experiential programs with rescued horses

Description

The purpose of BRHC as an educational organization is to partner people with horses for the betterment of mankind and horses. This is accomplished through experiential programs partnering children and adults with horses. (Leadership Awareness with Horses)

BRHC provides Leadership Programs to children and adults that promote self-awareness & constructive decision-making. These types of experiential programs with horses have been shown to have a longer-lasting and deeper impact because of the horse’s positive effects on human thoughts and emotions.

The vision of BRHC is larger than rescuing individual horses, (or even a hundred horses) from the kill yard and giving them a productive life. Our focus is in educating people about the value of these animals and what they can teach us. Horses have served humans for thousands of years and have evolved with us and we are just beginning to understand what these incredible beings have to offer in human education.

This vision increases public awareness about the value of horses in human lives because horses have tremendous value, far more than people realize. We believe the best way to realize it, is through experiential educational programs that lift our awareness, when interacting with horses in the correct way.

Our vision is fueled by the excitement of seeing kids with horses in a safe structured environment, realizing for the first time they have the power to direct their life the way they want it to be!
