The Curbside Market is a farmers’ market on wheels! Curbside trucks sell fresh, affordable produce at public housing sites, community buildings, and health centers. Volunteers join Curbside Operators on our trucks, traveling across Rochester and our surrounding counties to improve access to healthy food.
As one of our volunteers shared, "Seeing how Curbside impacts the community is where the rubber meets the road. You get to know the community, you know the customers, you see the people you’re supporting. To me that’s the most rewarding part -- to see the reactions Curbside gets from the community." Visit our website to learn more and sign up.
Position description: Assist Curbside Market Operator in loading/unloading the truck and engaging with customers about eating fresh foods.
Shifts: Monday through Friday, mornings or afternoons (4.5 to 6 hour commitment), hours vary by shift and season
Skills: Excellent customer service, adept at working out simple math mentally, comfortable in a fast-paced setting
To sign up: Visit http://foodlinkny.org/fight_hunger/get-involved/ to sign up for a shift. You will be contacted within five business days about the position.
